Hluhluwe Game Reserve is the oldest Park in Africa where you can view the Big Five (Lion, Rhinoceros, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant). Less than 2 hours drive from Zimbali Estate and established way back in 1895, Hluhluwe Game Reserve is where great Zulu Kings such as Dingiswayo and Shaka hunted and put in place the first conservation laws.
The Park also has become world renowned for its population of White Rhino, where they helped keep these animals away from near-extinction, from being less than 20 worldwide in 1900 to over 10,000 today.
The above can be viewed and enjoyed on self-drives, self-guided walks and game drives via 4x4s and boat cruises.
If you're at a holiday home in Zimbali and would love to see these beautiful animals then make the trip, it's certainly worth it.
